Photography is freezing a moment in time and providing a tangible keepsake. Renowned photographer, Aaron Siskind best described photography; “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
My passion for photography started from finding solace in photos. 2009 was wrought with devastation and loss from my son Brody passing away at just five months of age. Unexpectedly, we became pregnant with our second son, Dawson. After his birth, one of my dear friends knowing Brody’s story and the comfort I found at looking at his photo memories surprised me with a gift, my first DSLR camera. Naturally, I then started chasing Dawson around with the camera – and later, our daughter Payton as well.
My near-obsession with capturing our everyday moments with my camera quickly, almost seamlessly led to a new passion to provide keepsake photos for my family and friends. I felt a burning desire to turn this compulsion in to my career and haven’t looked back since. Through a lot of hard work, endless hours of learning my camera and developing my artistry, along with an amazing network of family and friends, Sunny King Photography was born.
As a photographer, I strive to capture the pure, simple moments of love and joy so that my clients can look back at their photos many years from now and have tears roll down their faces as they remember with happiness their most precious moments in time.
